As the train departs, we leave Kadin, Ardam, and the Kingdom of Adrost behind – for now. As I’m sure you can guess, there’s much more in store for these characters in the future. Next stop: Athelica!

This page does a perfect job of encapsulating Arion and Aliyana’s respective relationships with their adoptive father, and the disconnect between the two siblings. Their emotionally complex family history will take center stage in issues to come.

Though I sometimes wish I had more fully embraced other industrial-era technology besides the trains and guns you’ve seen thus far, I think the blend of technology in the story (and how that technology develops) will prove more interesting.
